NEW COURT DOC DETAILS: New records lay out a disturbing timeline in the death of 23-year-old Ashanti Allen—who was 8 months pregnant.
The father of the child, Kevin Faux, 24, has been charged with capital murder.
Investigators say Allen was found strangled with a cord tied around her neck.
At 3:50 a.m. on April 10, Allen’s mother received a text from her phone:“I’m leaving I’m not coming back.”
She says it was completely out of character.
Surveillance shows Allen and Faux leaving her apartment together around 2:20 a.m., with Faux reportedly driving her car. Just hours later, records say Faux called a woman on FaceTime—sweating, frantic, in a wooded area—and allegedly said he had killed someone, showing what appeared to be a lifeless body. Text messages that followed:“I had to fight for my life”
“Imma felon then I killed a [expletive]”
Last text was sent at 3:46 a.m.—just four minutes before the text was sent to Allen’s mother
Allen’s phone and car were later tracked to locations tied to Faux, including his mother’s home. Surveillance from a nearby business reportedly shows a man believed to be Faux dragging a body to the area where Allen was later found.Faux is now in custody after being arrested in Louisiana. He allegedly took a bus to Jefferson Parish to stay with a woman he’d never met in person. He told her not to look up the news and was seen using Allen’s debit card.
