Detectives with Constable Mark Herman’s Criminal Investigations Division received tips regarding illegal gambling at an establishment located in the 1600 block of Gears Road in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
An undercover investigation confirmed illegal gambling was occurring inside a small business with signage indicating it was a doughnut shop. Detectives obtained and served a search warrant at the location.
During the operation, detectives seized over $10,000.00 in cash suspected to be gambling proceeds, numerous illegal gambling devices, and documentation supporting illegal gambling activity.
Detectives filed criminal charges against Aleyda Miranda for Keeping a Gambling Place. Constable Herman’s Detectives had previously arrested Miranda one month prior after she was found working at another illegal gambling establishment.
Incident to arrest, Miranda was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
