ARRESTED: Booking photo of Christopher Mares, 18, is now charged with murder from Saturday’s (Feb. 25) fatal shooting of his brother at 3903 Erby Street.
Southeast HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at a mobile home community at the above address and were told by several witnesses that one male, Jose Mares, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a bedroom closet.
A preliminary investigation determined Mares’ brother, Christopher Mares shot him and then fled the scene in an unknown direction. Later, the suspect Christopher Mares turned himself in and was subsequently charged for his role in the fatal shooting.
