On March 11, 2025, Everett Smith was tragically killed in a hit-and-run crash at 4200 Chapman Street at Egypt Street in northeast Houston. The crash occurred around 1:05 PM, and the driver responsible fled the scene in a red Cadillac Escalade.
Houston Police Department officers and Vehicular Crimes Division (VCD) investigators responded to the scene. As of right now, the driver of that Cadillac Escalade has still not been identified.
Everett’s daughter, devastated by the loss, shared her heartbreak, noting that the tragedy happened on the same day as her daughter’s 18th birthday.
“My dad was innocent, and this is a very heartbreaking situation. He left us with so many memories. I just want justice for him. I’m his only child, and he had a heart of gold,” she expressed.
