Harris County Man Charged in May Murder While Already in Custody for Another Killing

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has announced that murder charges have been filed against 32 year-old Jaime Garcia in connection with the May 26, 2026, shooting death of 41-year-old Francisco Navarro.
Deputies responded around 7:30 AM on Tuesday, May 26, to the 1300 block of Patch Road in East Harris County after receiving reports of a deceased person inside a vehicle. Navarro was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased. Detectives say the suspect fled the scene, and the investigation was turned over to Homicide.
Garcia has now been charged with Navarro’s murder.
Garcia was already in custody on a separate murder charge stemming from another deadly shooting.
Christopher Walsh was fatally shot on July 3 after arriving at a home on Crathie Dr to perform repair work. Deputies found Walsh suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Garcia was charged with murder in Walsh’s death as well. Authorities have said the motive remains unknown.
Court documents state Garcia was out on bond for an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge when prosecutors allege he committed the July murder. Records also show he has an extensive criminal history in Harris County, including prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and assault causing bodily injury.
Garcia remains in the Harris County Jail without bond.
