On Friday, July 4, between 12:54 AM and 1:20 AM, Kenneth was driving northbound on I-45 near W. Cavalcade Street after leaving a family gathering where he had celebrated his niece’s birthday. He was headed home and planned to go to work later that day.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash involved three vehicles. Investigators say Kenneth’s vehicle was T-boned during the collision. Another driver involved in the crash remains in the ICU, and investigators believe a third vehicle, possibly a truck, fled the scene after the crash.
Everyone feared that Kenneth wouldn’t make it. Thankfully, he pulled through, but he continues to face a long road to recovery. His vehicle was completely destroyed.
Kenneth suffered severe lung damage, pelvic injuries, fluid on the brain, and serious intestinal injuries that required emergency surgery.
The investigation remains ongoing as the HPD works to identify and locate the driver who left the scene.
Kenneth’s family is hoping someone who was traveling through the area that night may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage that could help identify the suspect.
