HPD Releases Surveillance Video in Christmas Morning Fatal Shooting of 25-Year-Old Desmond Butler

HPD has released surveillance video in the fatal shooting of 25 year-old Desmond Butler, which happened on Christmas morning, at around 1:05 AM near 6609 West Sam Houston Parkway South (Beltway 😎.
Desmond was driving a gray Honda Pilot when he pulled into a gas station on Bellaire Blvd. As he entered the parking lot, he passed a black, older-model GMC Acadia parked at one of the gas pumps.
During the encounter, a Hispanic female exited the GMC and began chasing Desmond’s vehicle, attempting to open the rear passenger door as he tried to leave. At the same time, a Hispanic male exited the GMC and opened fire on Butler’s vehicle as it exited the parking lot.
Desmond attempted to drive northbound on the West Sam Houston Parkway feeder road but was struck and crashed into a pole in a nearby parking lot. The suspects then returned to the GMC Acadia and fled northbound on the feeder road.
HFD paramedics transported Desmond to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspects are described as a Hispanic male and a Hispanic female traveling in a black, older-model GMC Acadia.
