There’s currently an active investigation at Sharpstown International School. HISD police are looking into an incident where, despite initial claims that there was no gun on campus, some students reported seeing someone with a weapon. Several students were visibly upset, with some crying. After more police arrived, two students were reportedly arrested, with one arrest confirmed so far. The school remains on lockdown, and students have not yet been released.

The school release the following email:

This is an important message for Sharpstown International School parents from Principal Lopez-Garcia. Our campus is currently in a precautionary lockdown due to a report of a suspected weapon on campus. Police are on site and are investigating.Please know that we take these situations very seriously and the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.We understand that this is a scary situation for families. To aide in a thorough and quick investigation, the school cannot dismiss students or allow families to enter the building during a lockdown. We will provide updates as soon as possible, including when the lockdown is lifted.Again, this was an important message for Sharpstown International parents from Principal Lopez-Garcia.
