On Thursday, October 9, 2025, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to an aggravated robbery in the 28600 block of the Northwest Freeway, located in the parking lot of Academy Sports + Outdoors.
It was reported that two Hispanic males driving a white Cadillac met the victim in the parking lot to conduct a firearm transaction. During the exchange, one suspect produced a gun and pointed it at the victim, while both suspects stole the victim’s firearms before fleeing the scene.
Deputies quickly located the suspect vehicle attempting to hide in a nearby neighborhood in the 20600 block of North Blue Hyacinth Drive. When deputies attempted to make contact, the vehicle fled, leading to a brief pursuit that ended in the 20000 block of Cumberland Ridge Drive, where the suspects came to a stop and were taken into custody.
Deputies recovered the two stolen firearms as well as illegal narcotics, including marijuana, Xanax, and promethazine, from inside the suspect vehicle.
Both suspects were identified as Bryan Castro and Jesus Flores. Bryan was found to be out on a $500.00 bond for Theft and on probation for a DWI case.
“They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Robbery and Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. Bryan Castro’s bond was set at $85,000.00 out of the 495th District Court. Jesus Flores’ bond has not been set at this time.” – Constable Mark Herman
