A woman in her mid-20s died following a hit-and-run crash in northeast Houston late last night.
At about 10:50 PM, Houston police responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on North Wayside Dr near Little York Rd in the Wayside Village neighborhood.
HPD VCD Investigators said the woman was struck by a gray or black sedan. The driver reportedly fled the scene without stopping.
The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Investigators received conflicting witness statements regarding what happened immediately before the crash. Some information indicated the woman may have been walking in the roadway, while other information suggested she may have been sitting in the roadway when she was struck.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, and police are working to determine exactly what occurred.
