Stop The Violence H-Town: Shooting In NE Houston

A tragic shooting unfolded in Northeast Houston on Thursday night, leaving a 45-year-old man dead and his community searching for answers. The victim, whose identity is pending next-of-kin notification, was fatally shot in his own home shortly after 8:40 p.m. in the 3700 block of Hage Street.

Details remain scarce, but investigators believe the man communicated his distress to his girlfriend via FaceTime before the encounter turned deadly. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene but pronounced the victim deceased upon arrival. Police conducted a thorough search of the premises and did not encounter any additional individuals.

While the motive and number of assailants remain unclear, investigators have identified a potential lead – a bright blue Chevy Silverado pickup truck seen fleeing the scene after the gunshots. Lieutenant I. Izaguirre of the HPD Homicide Division acknowledged the ongoing investigation and the abundance of unanswered questions, including the manner of entry into the residence.

The HPD Homicide Division urges anyone with information, regardless of how seemingly insignificant, to contact them at 713-308-3600. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Any assistance in piecing together this tragic event would be invaluable to providing closure for the victim’s loved ones and bringing the perpetrator(s) to justice.
